Huzzah (for the tipper)!
As Ren-Fair fast approaches, I’m ever-reminded how I already spent my budget for this year. Dammit, it wasn’t supposed to be like this. After quickly and brutally learning my lesson last year about not bringing enough money for all the crazy shit they sell there, I vowed to save a couple hundred dollars for the go this time. That’s right: a couple hundred dollars. If you’ve never been, you don’t understand. They sell so much crazy shit there, and I need to, like, buy all of it. Not to mention the gallons of homemade mead I will be drinking, and the mouth-watering dishes they serve. Fuck… I need to pull it together here. I suppose I could always go with plan B: wear a robe, bring my guitar, and pretend I work there just long enough for me to make some money before I get kicked out. And, if by some chance, some in-character dude approaches me and starts speaking at me in Olde-speak, I’ll just clock ‘im with my guitar and take his rabbit-fur wallet.
Anyway, I promised I’d share the full playlist to my latest mega-mix once it was completed, which was about a month ago now. Sadly, this will probably be the last mega-mix I do as such, making it a robust Part II and satisfying conclusion to a collective 14 hour jamfest I’ve arranged. I know, right? Pretty damn epic. AND, naturally, it fuckin’ rocks.
Now that LOST has concluded (brilliantly, I might add), I find it rather difficult to watch television dramas. Maybe it’s the fact that there, like, really aren’t any out there worth watching right now, but I’ve found that comedies are much more up my alley right now. I’ve been watching quite a bit of the Daily Show, Colbert Report, Futurama, and whatever else is on Comedy Central around 1 in the morning. Well, that’s not true (at all, really), but I have been watching what seems like a ridiculous amount of comedies. Actually, I’ll take this opportunity to plug a fantastic little brit-com called “Peepshow”, which is a lot like the British version of “The Office”, except the whole thing is shot in first-person and it’s about 10 times more awkward. Honestly, sometimes it’s pretty hard to watch, but that’s all a part of the fun. If you’re someone who has the internet or like, a dvd machine, you should definitely check it out.
My friend Anthony and I are pretty notorious for creating specialty drinks based around things we like. Recently, in celebration of the LOST finale, we created a drink called “The Black Rock”. It’s three parts: 1 part black sambuca (or jaeger if black sambuca is banned in your state… Idaho), 1 part Blackhouse blackberry vodka, and a splash of tequila. I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty fucking intense and I for one can’t actually drink it, as smooth and tasty as it may be. Anyway, though, we were thinking about starting a blog about this sort of thing, where we create custom drinks based off of things, which just haven’t really narrowed it down yet to an appropriate classification. Movie-themed drinks? Who knows, but, I’ll keep ya posted.
All right folks, that’s all til next time.
