The Starfish Controversy

Ever since famously journeying out to the mysterious depths of southern California, I’ve felt a deep and largely inexplicable void in my soul, where once the heady ideals of hope and virtue staked their claim.

Those ideals are gone now, and I must replace them with something.

INTRODUCING MY NEW INDIE BAND: THE STARFISH CONTROVERSY!

YES!

Okay, I haven’t really thought this one through. I’m not really sure how to play indie music, or what defines it exactly. And I haven’t exactly found any band mates to like, play instruments. And I don’t have any songs planned or penned. But I do know that this thing is going to happen, and it’s going to happen hard and regretlessly.

It’s just such a damn perfect name for an indie band, I can’t let it go to waste. IMAGINE IT! Someone notices you’re listening to some mp3s or whatever and they’re like what are you listening to, captain? And you take a brief break from piloting and respond the new SC album. Awesome! You can abbreviate it with SC, much like you would say the OC instead of Orange County. Everything about this makes sense.

I bet the easiest, and thereby most rewarding part of heading this band venture will be coming up with names for songs. I mean, with a band name like THE STARFISH CONTROVERSY, how hard can it be? Let’s give it a whirl:

The Starfish Controversy: Self Titled

  1. Overturing
  2. The Rise and Fall of Talentville
  3. Midsummer Nigh Stream
  4. Concerto no.
  5. The Box Where You Kept My Keys
  6. Alexander von Humboldt
  7. Pencil Ink
  8. Serenade in Am Movement I: Largo
  9. Serenade in Am Movement II: Andante
  10. Serenade in Am Movement III: C major
  11. I Found A Coupon

Man, those songs sound… maybe great? I have no idea, I didn’t write them yet. But now I have to because THE STARFISH CONTROVERSY is gonna make it. I will not let the fact that I’ve put no work into the band affect ANYTHING. I WILL NOT let this affect my COMMUTE!

I WILL NOT LET THIS AFFECT MY COMMUTE

In other news, my company may be going out of business (um, my actual company, not the starfish thing) like, next week, so if’n any of you are hiring or are willing to pay me for stuff, let me know! I’d post my resume, but I think you get the picture of what I’m capable of now that you’ve heard my band idea.

Thank you for your time.
